Legacy

Preserving our Legacy.

Once upon a Time, there was an Heirloom and a Little girl, and now i get to tell you our story: We do what we do as a legacy, looking for Legends written in bricks that will withhold a historical story to revive a piece of the culture and history of every city or village we are blessed to be Heirlooming in.

A Heirloom is a hotel, vacation home, call it whatever suits you, for us it is the highest standards of accommodation and lodging, in a historical building with a culture space that tells the story of a great time from which the future generation can benefit.

Our Heirlooms are never for sale and will never be for sale, because the reason of their existence is to integrate great local culture into the best of what the lodging world needs to offer. These Heirlooms are bound by a strong matrimonial belief and they will never be on the market for sale. They exist today and will be there when your grandchildren and their grandchildren want to visit these cities and stay in the best of cultural lodging.

At all times, we look for a cultural building so we preserve the historical story it has to tell. On the inside, you have all the highest forms of current time amenities, but not just anything, a combination of minimalistic elegance with the best the world has to offer: from Blu ionized showers to toppers and 450 threads linen which will change your definition of the word sleep. Our suites are a combination of a studio apartment and a hotel suite, the best of both worlds. The kitchen, shower, toilet, etc are concealed behind wooden doors; as you walk in, you see a hotel suite and behind every door is a modern surprise of comfortable amenities to feel truly in your own place.
Our Heirloomic Hospitality revolves around three words Legends, Traditions, Legacy. Born with servitude, supremely trained as Legends, guided by deeply rooted Traditions, preserving our Legacy.

We work hard to get our Heirlooms in city centers, always walking distance from the city’s major attractions, where life happens. We also made a commitment to vary in size from three to thirty three suites maximum and we intend to stick to our commitment so we can preserve the local flavor of a true guest host experience.

"Heirloom is not a chain and neither a brand. Heirloom is local in each destination and is worldwide in reach. Heirloom does not have standard operating procedures but standard operating philosophies called Traditions."

Caroline Delbecque

Heirloom is not a chain and neither a brand. Heirloom is local in each destination and is worldwide in reach. Heirloom does not have standard operating procedures but standard operating philosophies called Traditions.

The next big thing is a lot of small things. Our story started at the age of 30, when both of us knew that this is what we loved doing and that we wanted to do it. And like everything you are meant to do, the universe aligns itself with you to make things happen for you.
With little in our bank account, we made the first entrepreneurial baby step and acquired The House of Edward, on the Edward Anseeleplein. Edward Anseele, a man unknown to many, but a man with a legacy that improved people’s lives. A Gentian for the world, exactly what we stood for, with the local community, local suppliers and local funding, we opened our doors on first of October two thousand sixteen with our first five rooms, a culture room and a place for us to stay. Here we went down to business, with everything we learned from building mega hotels and hotel management companies, here we were, my husband and I by ourselves building again; the difference is we used to have the great assistance of five thousands super talents who were the heart of our companies and now we were two and we loved it. Every single moment was a great memory. It was the first time that I felt we were no longer this corporate power couple that see each other only in boardrooms and now we are a married couple deep in love working hand in hand in perfecting our dreams that are coming true. We called our first baby “Heirloom I”, The House of Edward, an overnight success, we could not have been more grateful.

Through a good friend and the alignments of the stars, “Heirloom II” found its way to us. Brought to life on the second of November two thousand sixteen, The House of Trade has four suites, each could be a designer signature home, inspiring walls telling the story of what once used to be the place of trading and buzzing businesses. The neighborhood is filled with restaurants from all flavors of the world and lucky us, next door is Ghent’s best breakfast, Simon Says.

"With every new Heirloom, with every culture reborn and every story retold, with every job created, I feel closer to fulfilling my purpose. "

Caroline Delbecque
With every new Heirloom, with every culture reborn and every story retold, with every job created, I feel closer to fulfilling my purpose. Honestly, we could not be more grateful to all the blessings that came on us. Today we are working on two new Heirlooms in the city of trust and love, Ghent. Heirloom III in Hoogstraat 71, telling the story of the people of Ghent that preserved their identity throughout days of hardship and even throughout days of glory and Heirloom IV in Sint-Jansvest next to the new library De Krook, will tell the story of another famous Gentian Writer, Poet and Philosopher.

What the future holds, I don’t know but I do know that I wake up in the morning excited for a new day, going to do what we love with passion being our fuel, and I hope that one day I will have the chance to welcome you in one of Heirlooms.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, Long Live Heirloom.
