The Librarian is located in Sint-Jansvest, a narrow traffic-free street that connects the shopping streets Korte Dagsteeg and Brabantdam. A super central location with shops, restaurants, the opera, the NTG, shopping centre Gent-Zuid,... all within a 10-minute walk.

The interior of The Librarian is inspired by the city library de Krook around the corner. The main colour is white, combined with industrial look and dark accents.
In Sint-Jansvest, there lived a librarian in the 20th century who devoted himself to writing down the history of Ghent. He was also a publisher and published numerous books about Ghent.
With the Librarian, we pay tribute to this legend, to his dedication to preserving the past for the present through literature.
Can you imagine him standing at his printing press? Carefully setting the letters alongside each other and then letting history live on on paper.
LOW EMISSION ZONE

Since 2020, Ghent is located in a Low Emission Zone. This means that older cars with high emissions are banned from the city centre in order to improve the air quality in the city. Check here whether your car meets the standards.
PARKING OPTIONS
​
The Librarian is located in a car-free street. The underground car parks De Kouter or Gent Zuid are nearby and cost about €16 per 24 hours.
You can also park on the Laurentplein, just around the corner, but this is a red parking zone, so the most expensive option (€10 per 3h).
Free or much cheaper parking is available at Park & Ride locations on the outskirts of the city. You can then easily travel to The Librarian by public transport.
